Community Rules

These are the rules enforced on Tarvos, if you find a person breaking a rule, you can report them in the Player Reports section.
Offenses are punished accordingly per Moderation Guideline, in some cases, punishments are up to staff discretion.
If you believe you have been falsely punished, you may appeal your punishment in the
Punishment Appeals section.
Rules are subject to change at any time. When they are changed, an announcement will be posted on the forums and Discord server.

 

Section 1 - Minecraft

1.1 - Communication Offenses:

  • 1.1.1 - Spamming
    Cluttering a public, private or group chat with symbols, alpha-or-numeric characters, all-capital letters, words or phrases with the intention to disrupt player experience.
  • 1.1.2 - Harassment
    Showing inappropriate behavior of any sort with the intention to demean or hurt another person.
  • 1.1.3 - Vulgarity
    Displaying an inappropriate name, skin or cape, or excessive use of inappropriate language that does not belong in Tarvos' chats.
  • 1.1.4 - Releasing Personal Information (Doxxing)
    Releasing information that can identify a person in real life.
  • 1.1.5 - Community Advertising
    Advertising / publicly posting about another community or unrelated content in Tarvos' chats for personal gain or out of Tarvos' interest. For example: A YouTube video of games is allowed. A LinkedIn profile is not allowed.
  • 1.1.6 - Malicious Content
    Repetitive trolling, providing false community information or sharing content that includes (suggestive) links to websites or applications not endorsed by Tarvos.
  • 1.1.7 - Foreign Language
    Writing in any language other than English. English is the only language supported on Tarvos.
  • 1.1.8 - Metagaming
    Sharing another player's (or their /clan/ base) location in public chats or private messages to random players in-game, on Discord or the forums. This includes using knowledge and information gained through these practices to engage in combat.
  • 1.1.9 - Ethical Force
    Accusing a player of breaking a community rule, this includes offense or staff related accusations. - When you believe a player is breaking a rule, you should report them to the staff team, who are there to take care of these inquiries.

1.2 - Combat Offenses:

  • 1.2.1 - Combat Logging
    Forcefully disconnecting from the server during active combat and pursuit to avoid interaction with another player. Players are allowed to disconnect when in safety.
  • 1.2.2 - Stream-Sniping
    Using a livestream from another player to track their location to engage in combat.
  • 1.2.3 - Portal & Bed Trapping
    Misusing the placement of objects to trap another player in a bed or portal (to weaken them in combat).

1.3 - Build Offenses:

  • 1.3.1 - Malicious Landscape Altering (APPLIES TO UNIVERSE ONLY)
    Altering a landscape, structure with the intention to ruin other players their experience. Any type of build or manipulation to the landscape that may be deemed malicious. (This means that you are allowed to raid and grief bases as long as you don't alter the landscape in a way that it would ruin player experience, e.g. a big hole all the way to bedrock or tons of random blocks scattered in the sky.)
  • 1.3.2 - NSFW graphics
    Displaying a symbol, icon or graphic on a shield or banner that may be deemed inappropriate or offensive.
  • 1.3.3 - Invulnerable Base (APPLIES TO UNIVERSE ONLY)
    Finding a way to establish a base in a way that base property is unreachable or access is unreasonable. Clan Totems, chests, furnaces and armor stands are required to be accessible without the player being forced to go through unreasonable builds (e.g. a maze of cobwebs) and without having to remove any blocks.

1.4 - Clan Offenses:

  • 1.4.1 - Alliance Betrayal (APPLIES TO UNIVERSE ONLY)
    Starting an alliance with another clan with the intention to betray and grief the clan.
  • 1.4.2 - Random Inviting (APPLIES TO UNIVERSE ONLY)
    Sending out multiple invites using the clan invite command to random people who are not aware of your clan.
  • 1.4.3 - Clan Hopping (APPLIES TO UNIVERSE ONLY)
    Switching between clans to avoid negative effects and consequences. (E.g. from the Karma system.)

1.5 - Other Offenses:

  • 1.5.1 - Server Disruption
    Taking an action that disrupts the operation of Tarvos' its servers, this includes statements, threats or accessory & involvement to the violation.
  • 1.5.2 - Prohibited Software
    Using a disallowed client or macro/bind that offers you an advantage over other players.
  • 1.5.3 - Bug Exploiting
    Intentionally exploiting a server script or Minecraft bug.
  • 1.5.4 - Punishment Circumvention
    The act of using an alternative account to circumvent punishments such as mutes and bans.

 


Section 2 - Forums

2.1 - Thread Offenses:

  • 2.1.1 - Report Post Violation
    Intentionally creating a false report or posting on a report that does not involve you, without approval from a Tarvos staff member.
  • 2.1.2 - Disturbance of Peace
    Creating a thread with the intention to demean or riot against other community members, clans or Tarvos staff.

 

2.2 - Post Offenses:

  • 2.2.1 - Spamming
    Cluttering a thread, signature, profile message board or private messages with symbols, alpha-or-numeric characters, all-capital letters, words or phrases with the intention to disrupt player experience.
  • 2.2.2 - Harassment
    Showing inappropriate behavior of any sort with the intention to demean or hurt another person.
  • 2.2.3 - Vulgarity
    Displaying an inappropriate name, signature or excessive use of inappropriate language that does not belong on the Tarvos community forums.
  • 2.2.4 - Releasing Personal Information
    Releasing information that can identify a person in real life.
  • 2.2.5 - Community Advertising
    Advertising / publicly posting about another community or unrelated content in Tarvos' chats for personal gain or out of Tarvos' interest. For example: A YouTube video of games is allowed. A LinkedIn profile is not allowed.
  • 2.2.6 - Malicious Content
    Repetitive trolling, providing false community information or sharing content that includes (suggestive) links to websites or applications not endorsed by Tarvos.
  • 2.2.7 - Foreign Language
    Writing in any language other than English. English is the only language supported on Tarvos.
  • 2.2.8 - Ethical Force

    Cluttering a text channel with symbols, alpha-or-numeric characters, all-capital letters, words or phrases or playing excessive and repeated noises in a voice channel with the intention to disrupt player experience. This includes repeated private messages to other community members and staff.
  • 3.1.2 - Harassment
    Showing inappropriate behavior of any sort with the intention to demean or hurt another person.
  • 3.1.3 - Vulgarity
    Displaying an inappropriate name or excessive use of inappropriate language that does not belong in Tarvos' chats.
  • 3.1.4 - Releasing Personal Information
    Releasing information that can identify a person in real life.
  • 3.1.5 - Community Advertising
    Advertising / publicly posting about another community or unrelated content in Tarvos' chats for personal gain or out of Tarvos' interest. For example: A YouTube video of games is allowed. A LinkedIn profile is not allowed.
  • 3.1.6 - Malicious Content

List of Definitions

  • Combat
    Any sort of damage inflicted against a person, their belongings or property.
  • Alliance
    An ongoing friendly relationship between two or more parties. This can be groups of clans and individual players.
  • Livestream
    Live broadcast of a player playing on the Tarvos server and sharing this to viewers in form of content and entertainment.
  • Cluttering
    Filling a section with repetitive and/or unorganized information.
