  1. Hey Bigmoney :) Welcome to Tarvos! Have you thought about what class and role you are going to take on?
  2. You can already log in to the SMP and Hub! See you online soon!
  3. Heya :) Welcome to Tarvos! What do you mainly do on Minecraft? Are you a builder, a survivalist, a modder or something else? :)
  4. Hi Miles! :) Welcome to Tarvos! What are your ambitions on Tarvos? Will you rule an empire, be a clanleader? Will you conquer the worlds or will you go for a completely different approach? Anyway, enjoy your stay :D
  5. Have you ever seen someone use amazingly-cool icons in-game? Well, if you want to start using these, feel free to take a look at the list that's supported by Minecraft. I tested these out myself. Highlight the symbol you want to copy; Press CTRL + c to copy; Paste with CTRL + v in game. (Mac computers use cmd instead of CTRL) Symbols: Corporate: Suits / Chess: Shapes: Blocks: Music Notes: Emoji: Alphabet: Astrology: Flowers: Hearts: Arrows: I probably missed a lot of the other options, feel free to add them to the comments below. I will update the list when possible.
  6. So, is there a downside to MongoDB? Why isn't thios as widely spread as SQL?
  7. Very interesting to read. I'm known with SQL but never heard of MongoDB. It sounds like this would not be a quicker way to store and retreive data, but that's probably my lack of knowledge on the matter. I think it's great that you guys are doing all you can to stabilize the server and its database. Shout out to @Tom for coming up with a solution that improves the performance! Will the previously established 2fa's still work, or will we have to link it again? And do you have an update on the staff portal? Anyhow, good work!
  8. Welkom! I would like to ask you for help, next time I need a new pc :)
  9. Where does your username come from?
  10. I forgot to ask, as a coding pleb, what should your signature do? When you leave, it should play the SAO themesong?
  11. Hi Jaxon! What's an euphonium :o Do you have a recording on YouTube of youn playing it? Welcome and have fun!
  12. Any other games on the XBox you play? Or has it been retired yet?
  13. Pretty cool Ziza :) I like your energy, so I would like to chat some more. Sadly we're in different timezones, do I really wonder if we'll get some game-time together :)
  14. Woah, that's awesome! How many flight hours do you have? :D
  15. I've never heard of this band but I like it already! Coraline is my favorite out of the ones you mentioned :D Nice to meet you!
  16. Why would that be embarassing? I get inspired by Grian, GoodTimesWithScar and Bdubs to build better. They are what got me back into the game :)
  17. Share time! Everyone presses their F2 key on accident, or maybe you pressed it on purpose last time. It doesn't matter, it's time to share! Put your most recent screenshot in the thread. No need to explain, but if you feel like it, go ahead! I'll start: Is this leaked Tarvos footage? Your turn now!
  18. Watch out for this though: Limited time offer for first-time Nitro users only. Subscription auto-renews for $9.99/month unless cancelled. Meaning, you either cancel it directly or get charged automatically.
  19. My thoughts: I think that we need a moneysink. Adding a small fee to open up shop, or offer an item could be a great way of doing so. Let's say that a diamond sword will cost about 100 points, maybe 7 of those points go towards Tarvos' bank. We could also get people to trade more, if selling items gives them a chance to join a small lottery. For every #amount# you sell, you get one ticket into the raffle. Having a chance to win some gems, simply by being part of the economy. I love the idea of auction houses. I would like to have a buyout option, as I know a lot of MC players aren't as patient as the fans following Tarvos right now. Let's say someone wants to sell their diamond sword for 1k and sets the buyout price at 1250, then another player can just decide, 'sure, I will buy it now', and make both players happy. I am really interested in seeing how this will become intuitive enough for people to do. There is not a lot of well-known plugins that promote p2p trading. I think you would need a VERY clean and intuitive GUI for this. Implement a timer as well, to prevent scamming via quick-trade. Example: after you click accept, it starts a five second timer, giving you five seconds to back out of the deal anyway. Or do it the RuneScape method, have two screens, one for the trade, and one for the confirm. Or both options.
  20. I still watch Etho and the Hermits play. It makes my day. I used to like Captain Sparkles a lot :)
  21. Hello everyone, I would like to introduce myself to the community. My name is Thanks, I'm a Dutch fulltime journalist, looking to play on a really promising server. I prefer the nickname Thanks or Thanks_again ingame. People refer to me as a Minecraft veteran, because I joined around the release of the Pistons. I remember the first video's showing you could make automated bridges that rebuilt themselves, and thinking to myself, wow... This game really has it all. Hiatus I haven't been playing Minecraft non-stop though, I stopped playing for a very long time. Mostly due to university and finding a job. I felt I outgrown the game, while still enjoying some content on YouTube. As soon as Hermitcraft season 7 kicked in, that all so familiar Minecraft itch came back. I fired up the game and found that playing in my own survival world, was not a challenge to me. While learning about amazing builders on Hermitcraft, I thought to myself: 'I could do that'. Getting back into the game Yet it took me quite a while to get back into the game. Only a month ago I actually started building again. I uploaded most of my builds since then to this IMGUR gallery. If you feel like checking it out, feel free to leave me some feedback below this thread! I discovered the replay mod and am learning how to use it now. It might be a little overkill in this gallery though *cough*. My past I have owned a few servers in the past. I know how timeconsuming setting up a server can be. I think setting up servers is what got me my tech-savvy mind. I enjoy learning new skills on the computer. Creating logo's for my Minecraft servers taught me how to use Photoshop. Marketing a server taught me how to make gif's. (Yes, im from back when there were maybe three top-minecraft lists online. Voting was a real thing, but vote rewards were not commonplace yet. You stood out with your server by making a gif banner!) Why I joined Tarvos I decided to join Tarvos to meet some like-minded people, and to hopefully showcase my building techniques. I enjoy playing with a big community, and am really interested in the new proposed gamemodes. If theres a way to be a part of that, I'm sure as heck going to take it. That's why I recently applied as a builder! Wish me luck! What about you? What made you start playing Minecraft? Was it the creative aspect, or was it the community? Who was the first YouTuber you watched? Let me know down below!
